Almost KZT 1 trln invested in housing construction in 2017

Through the year 2017, KZT979.8bn was invested in housing construction in Kazakhstan, which is 18% higher than the previous year's level. This was announced by the Minister for Investment and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zhenis Kasymbek at the meeting of the RK Government.

"By the end of 2017, KZT 979.8 bn was invested in housing construction in Kazakhstan, which is 18% higher than last year's level. The share of private investments amounted to 825.8 billion tenge, or 84.3 percent of total volume, the state investments - 154 billion tenge, or 15.7 percent of the total volume," Kasymbek reported.

According to the minister, last year 75% of the total share of housing construction was built at the expense of the private sector.

"In total, 100.8 thousand apartments were built, 75.8 thousand of them, or 75% of the total amount were built at the expense of the private sector, 25 thousand apartments (25% of the volume) – at the expense of the state investments," the minister said.

He also noted that in comparison with 2016 the level of commissioning of housing has increased, which allowed to overfulfill the annual plan.

"11.2 million square meters of housing have been put into operation, which is 6.2% higher than last year's level," he concluded.
