Results of KazBuild/WorldBuild Almaty 2017: an effective platform for business decisions

September 5, 2017, the Iteca exhibition company based in Kazakhstan opened the autumn exhibition season in Almaty. The Atakent Exhibition Center held the 24th International Building and Interiors Exhibition “KazBuild/WorldBuild Almaty 2017” and the 10th International exhibition for domestic and industrial heating, water supply, sanitary, air-conditioning, ventilation equipment “Aquatherm Almaty 2017”.

The official opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Head of the Management of the City Building Azamat Rakhimov, Deputy General Consul of Germany in Almaty Mr. Joos Bertram, Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Kazakhstan Alexander Yakovlev, as well as representatives of the diplomatic missions of the participating countries and the management of the exhibition’s organizers.

In his welcoming speech, Azamat Rakhimov noted that for more than two decades the exhibition has made a significant contribution to the strengthening and development of the construction industry in the region, gathering leaders of top domestic and foreign companies in Almaty.

This year the KazBuild/WorldBuild Almaty 2017 exhibition, which included 408 exhibiting companies and sub-exhibitors from 28 countries of the world, occupied 4 pavilions of the Atakent exhibition complex. National stands were presented by Germany, India, Italy, China, Lithuania, United Arab Emirates, Poland, Portugal, Russia, and Serbia. Joint expositions were made by Kurgan, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Tatarstan, Tyumen region and the Chuvash Republic. For the second consecutive year, a whole pavilion was reserved for Chinese companies.

For four days of the exhibition, 4,109 persons have visited it. The visitors arrived from 13 regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 22 regions of the Russian Federation, Belarus, Ukraine and China. At the same time, the share of potential buyers was 37.17% (direct decision-making persons), including representatives of manufacturing companies, construction and assembly companies, wholesale and retail chains, architectural and engineering offices, state organizations, road construction organizations and many others.

The international presence of the Aquatherm Almaty 2017 exhibition included expositions of the leading countries of the industry – Austria, Germany, Denmark, Iran, Italy, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Poland, Russia, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, France, Czech Republic, and South Korea. An impressive exposition of Russian participants in 2017 replenished with 12 new companies and occupied more than 260 square meters.

The exhibition program of KazBuild/WorldBuild Almaty 2017 and Aquatherm Almaty 2017 has been significantly expanded and included profile workshops, seminars and consultations. So, within the framework of KazBuild/WorldBuild Almaty, a demonstration platform has already been organized for the third time. Separation on the themes allowed guests and participants to choose the product of their interest. In addition, visitors and participants were able to take part in “Design Laboratory" in which information about the interactive creation of the interior, the development of creative thinking and practical work with finishing materials was given.

Ainura Ibragimova, Corporate Accounts Manager for Kerama Marazzi, said that the events held within the KazBuild/WorldBuild Almaty exhibition allow companies not only to present their products in a timely manner, but also to assess the demand and understand the interests of customers. "KazBuild, I think, is such an event where it is possible to present your products well, so that they will know about you. We, in turn, also get acquainted a lot about different companies, designers, and simply even conversed to customers," said Ainura Ibragimova.
The KazBuild/WorldBuild Almaty and Almaty Aquatherm international exhibitions are traditionally attended by the representatives of the wholesale and retail trade, construction and repair companies, architectural and design agencies interested in expanding its range of products in accordance with the actual demand.

For the first time within the KazBuild/WorldBuild Almaty exhibition, an expo-tour was organized in which the first heads of KKK Engineering LLP and KKK Concrete LLP from Karaganda took part. As a result of the program, business meetings were held with exhibitors within the framework of which negotiations took place for the supply of elevators, and a contract was signed for the supply of a special unit for the production of reinforced concrete products for the amount of more than 300,000 euros.

The special buyer's program gave an opportunity for a delegation from the Kyrgyz Republic to take advantage of a free bus transfer to the exhibition. The VIP delegation included 129 specialists from the largest enterprises of Kyrgyzstan: ARHSTROYPROEKT LLC Design Bureau, KGS LLC, Seido Systems LLC, Elite House CC, Aalam Stroy LLC, Family Village CC and others.

In addition, for facilitation of search for the necessary partners, the organizers of the exhibition provided B2B meetings in which representatives of business had an opportunity to converse on potential cooperation issues taking into account the need and priorities of the company, and to conclude partnership contracts.

"Over the past two days, we have been very busy within b2b meetings for 25 Italian companies with local partners and these meetings were very successful. Yesterday we met with officials in the Almaty’s Akimat, and we found that there are opportunities for cooperation. The regional departments of the Almaty city are carrying out work on the renovation of sidewalks and facades of buildings, and we think that Italian companies can provide the products that are needed for this," said Salvatore Parano.

The organizers of the events are the Iteca exhibition company based in Kazakhstan and its international partner ITE Group PLC (Great Britain). The Ministry of Investment and Development of the RoK and the Akimat of the city of Almaty annually provide official support to the events.
